Botox Aftercare Instructions

You received a Botox treatment today. Following the guidance below will help you get a more comfortable, natural-looking result.

General care

  • You may wash your face and apply makeup about 2–3 hours after treatment.
  • Redness, bruising, or a dull ache at the injection sites can appear temporarily.
  • Do not press or rub the treated area today, and avoid alcohol, saunas, hot baths, and strenuous exercise for 2–3 days.
  • Results usually appear gradually from days 3–7 and settle in around 2 weeks.

Care by area

Forehead · Glabella

Your brows or eyelids may feel temporarily heavy. Do not massage the treated area or receive meridian massage.

Crow's feet · Under-eye

A slightly awkward smile, dryness, or under-eye puffiness can occur temporarily. Do not rub around the eyes.

Nostrils · Nose bridge

Do not press or massage around the nose. Facial expressions may feel briefly unnatural.

Jaw muscles

You may feel soreness or weakness when chewing hard or chewy food. Cut down on tough foods like squid or gum for about a week.

Salivary glands

Dry mouth can occur, so drink plenty of water. If severe dry mouth or difficulty swallowing persists, contact the clinic.

Mouth corners · Chin

Speaking, smiling, or using a straw may feel briefly awkward. Do not massage around the mouth firmly.

Trapezius

You may feel weaker when lifting your arms or heavy objects. Avoid upper-body weight training and heavy lifting for about a week.

Calves

Avoid running, hiking, jumping, and lower-body weight training for about a week. Your legs may feel briefly sore or tire easily.

Underarm · Hand/Foot hyperhidrosis

It can take 1–2 weeks for sweating to decrease. Grip strength may be temporarily weaker after palm treatment.

When to contact us

Contact the clinic if you experience severe pain, difficulty breathing or swallowing, vision changes, or persistent discomfort.
